Week 2 (6 miles / 9.6 km) – January 19, 2020
Welcome to week 2. Nasty, evil, week 2. This week we get to run all seven Northshore hills. Yes, the hills start out easy, but get longer and harder with each new hill.
As far as I’m concerned, the “Apartment Hill” (the one after LaSalle Park) is the toughest on the course. You have been running hills with very little recovery for the last 2 km’s, and you are at kilometre 21 of the race. On race day, push too hard on the last hill on North Shore and you’ll be walking before you hit kilometer 25.
For the hard core runners, I’d like to have you push hard on each of the hills. You should be winded and tired at the top of each rise. As a bonus, you get a 1 minute rest break at the top of each hill.
