Learn 2 Run: Program Intro

If you can run for one minute and stick to the training program, you should be able to run five kilometres without stopping in approximately 10-12 weeks.

I tell the people I coach that you can achieve just about anything if you have three things:

  1. The Desire
  2. The Time
  3. A Plan

If you are looking at these pages, you already have the desire or determination. The question is how much do you really want it? If you want it enough, you’ll find the time to get in the workouts. Where these pages come in is the last item, “The Plan” or as I like to call it the Learn 2 Run Program.

What is the program you ask? The program is interval training, geared for non-runners to slowly increase their aerobic and cardio capacity by doing a 30-40 minute workout three to four times a week.

Start with “Basics”, followed by “Week 1” through “Week 10”. For more information and optional reading check out “Gear” and “Form” as well.

With a little determination, patience and support, you’ll be ready for a 5 km road race in about 10 weeks.
