Since shin splints can happen when your calf muscles become stronger than the shin muscles, one way to prevent shin splints in the first place is to do some strengthening exercises. Heel walks are beneficial, but here’s a simple move you can do while at your desk.

The web site has been updated and we are now running on WordPress rather than custom code. It should be easier to post essays and updates.
I’ve already redesigned both the Around The Bay Training and the Chair Pushers Guide, so both should be easier to navigate around and find what you want quicker.
I’ll be adding in all the content from the old web site in the next while as well as adding new content. More changes will be made as we tart up the design, so watch your step, it’s a construction zone. If you find a missing link or problem, just drop me a line and I’ll fix it up.

My Triathlon Bike Saddle Evolution
On the back half of the bike course on the 2012 Mont Tremblant Ironman.
On the second lap, I hit a personal cycling speed record of 92 kph.
A bike seat is a very personal choice. You spend a lot of time on one of the five contact points between you and your bike. If it isn’t working for you, there will be a lot of pain and discomfort during all those hours spent training and racing. Also, if you aren’t comfortable, you’ll lose efficiency and by inference speed which equals time on your bike split.
